Decline in Digital Quality of Life in Iran

Currently, the main damages in the network of communications and information in Iran include three areas: disruption in accessing the internet, extensive filtering, and slow internet connection speed.

Extensive filtering has made the use of circumvention tools inevitable, resulting in not only imposing excessive costs but also increasing the vulnerability of users’ digital communication devices. This has elevated the risk of information security and cyber attacks on businesses.

According to the Internet Quality Report published by the Tehran Electronic Commerce Association, Iran ranks 47th out of 50 countries in terms of internet disruption. Iran holds the 49th position in the internet restriction index and is placed last in the internet speed index.
