Farbod Alavi Roshankouhi, a Baha’i citizen, has been released from Evin Detention Center on a bail of 800 million tomans.
This Baha’i citizen was arrested on 4th December 2022 when security forces raided his house in Sari. His family remained unaware of his situation for 3 days. Eventually, he informed his family in a brief call that he had been transferred to Tehran and is being held in Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence’s Evin Prison. Amnesty International had previously warned about the suppression and increased security pressures on Baha’i citizens in a statement issued in September. The arrest of Baha’i citizens in Iran has intensified with the start of protests.
