German Chancellor: We will not allow Putin to forcibly change Ukraine's borders

German Chancellor: We will not allow Putin to forcibly change Ukraine’s borders.

Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, has promised not to let Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, forcibly change Ukraine’s borders or impose peace conditions.

Scholz told German lawmakers in Berlin on Thursday, ‘We do not accept a dictated peace for Ukraine. Law is stronger than violence.’

He added that Putin was seeking to violate this principle by launching Russia’s military operation against Ukraine in February 2022. Scholz said, ‘We will not allow him to escape from this issue.’

Scholz emphasized that Germany’s support for Ukraine in the war against Moscow will not diminish, and any expectations contrary to this are miscalculations. He criticized Putin’s electoral victory, which allowed him to take office for a fifth presidential term, claiming it shows that Russia is not strong.
