I strongly deny the news of the resignation of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Recently, there have been reports suggesting that some members of the parliament are dissatisfied with Mr. Amir-Abdollahian’s performance regarding Iran’s international position.
The widespread suppression of protests in the past few months, the execution of political prisoners, and the widespread arrests of civil and political activists, as well as prominent figures in the arts and sports, have led to multiple international condemnations against the Islamic Republic.
A Kuwaiti newspaper called Al-Jarida recently reported that a group of parliament members are seeking to collect signatures for the impeachment of the Foreign Minister due to the Islamic Republic’s tarnished reputation on the international stage.
The newspaper stated that dissatisfied representatives believe that the performance of the Foreign Ministry has shattered Iran’s pride and diminished its value in international forums.
The wave of international condemnation against the Islamic Republic in the past three months has been unprecedented, with the most reputable international human rights organizations repeatedly taking a stance against the repressive behavior of the government in Iran.
