Sara Siahpoor, a teacher and union activist, has been expelled on charges of participating in legal protests of teachers, posting a photo without hijab, and supporting the ‘Women’s Freedom Life’ campaign against the Ministry of Education.
Ms. Siahpoor, on her Instagram page, shared a photo of her expulsion decree, stating, ‘Today, I received the decree of my dignity. I will turn my expulsion decree into a medal and proudly wear it around my neck. I will bravely bear the consequences of the right path I chose.’ The Teachers’ Guild Channel has also confirmed this decision. The Ministry of Education’s Disciplinary Board has issued the expulsion decree for this teacher and union activist.
According to the announcement of this board, the charges leading to the final expulsion ruling of this experienced teacher include union activities, legal demands, participating in legal protests of teachers, posting a photo without hijab, and supporting the ‘Women’s Freedom Life’ campaign. Ms. Siahpoor was sentenced last summer in Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Abolghasem Salavati, to five years in prison for charges of social unrest and conspiracy, and one year in prison for anti-establishment propaganda.
