Sepideh Gholian Deprived of Phone Call in Evin Prison

Sepideh Ghelian has been deprived of making phone calls in Evin Prison.

Bebisi Farsi has learned that Sepideh Ghelian has been deprived of making phone calls in Evin Prison.

A day before this deprivation, Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who is in solidarity with Sepideh Ghelian, contacted the outside world using her card from outside Evin Prison.

In this phone call, Ms. Mohammadi urged Iranian women not willing to submit to compulsory hijab to at least not remain silent and to narrate the consequences they face due to compulsory hijab.

Ms. Mohammadi also reported that Dina Ghalehbagh, a journalist and student, has entered the women’s ward with a bruised body.

Dina Ghalehbagh was detained after the incident with the authorities due to not wearing compulsory hijab.

Narges Mohammadi has been deprived of making phone calls for five months. She was not even allowed to make phone calls to her family when her father passed away.
