The life of my father is in danger after my father's court

Jamshid Sharmahd’s daughter, after her father’s trial, says my father’s life is in danger.

Zhaleh Sharmahd, the daughter of Jamshid Sharmahd, an Iranian-German citizen who is imprisoned in Iran, tweeted after the eighth and final session of her father’s trial, stating that his life is in danger. She had previously stated that he was accused of plotting against the state, which carries the death penalty, and had introduced an online petition to stop this sentence. Human rights organizations and activists have repeatedly warned that Jamshid Sharmahd is at risk of execution.

The news of Mr. Sharmahd’s arrest was published on August 1, 2020. Some Iranian media claimed that Mr. Sharmahd was arrested in Tajikistan.

However, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, at the same time, stated in its announcements that any speculation in the media about the manner of Jamshid Sharmahd’s arrest, the head of the Kingdom Assembly of Iran, is denied.
