The European Union is reviewing sanctions on Russian liquefied natural gas.
Two EU diplomats say the European Commission is currently considering a plan to sanction Russian liquefied natural gas. This is the first time Brussels intends to sanction Moscow’s gas sector.
According to Politico, while more than two years have passed since Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the European Commission is preparing the fourteenth package of sanctions against Russia. According to these two sources, the new sanctions could include restrictions on three LNG projects in Russia and the re-export of Russian LNG through EU ports.
