The Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran shook the Raavar county in Kerman province with an earthquake

The Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran reported that an earthquake shook Ravar County in Kerman Province.

Iranian media have reported that earthquakes with a magnitude of 4.7 shook Ravar County in Kerman Province, Iran, this morning.

The Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran reported the time of this earthquake as 4:37 AM local time in Iran today.

The depth of this earthquake was reported to be 10 kilometers underground and 33 kilometers away from Ravar.

According to ISNA, Reza Abbasi, the governor of Ravar, stated that based on the assessments carried out, the Ravar earthquake has so far caused no casualties or significant damage.

Mr. Abbasi mentioned that three assessment teams from the Red Crescent have also been dispatched to the eastern villages of Ravar and the vicinity of the earthquake’s epicenter to assess potential damages.

The county governor of Ravar further stated that all Red Crescent bases in the province have been put on standby.
