The National Security Advisor of the White House stated that the formation of a Palestinian state is the only way to ensure the security of Israel.
Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor of the White House, claimed early Monday morning that reaching an agreement for a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, as well as a temporary cessation of hostilities in Gaza, is not readily available.
Sullivan said in an interview with ABC News that, in our view, an agreement for a prisoner exchange should serve as a sustainable interruption to hostilities, allowing for the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and a reduction in the suffering of Palestinians.
He explained that such negotiations are proceeding slowly until they gain momentum, which is why it is difficult to determine an exact timeline for when an agreement will be reached, or if one will be reached at all.
This US security official reiterated that Washington sees only one sustainable solution for achieving peace in the West Asia region and ensuring the security of Israel, which is the establishment of a Palestinian state with security guarantees for Tel Aviv.
