The United States and Saudi Arabia are on the verge of a historic security agreement.
According to a report published by Bloomberg on Friday, May 2, the United States and Saudi Arabia are approaching a historic security agreement. This agreement likely paves the way for Saudi Arabia to acquire advanced weapons that need approval from the U.S. Senate and ensures the security of the country.
It also provides a framework for normalizing Saudi Arabia’s relations with Israel if Israel ends the war in Gaza.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia restricts China’s technology in its most sensitive networks in exchange for U.S. investment in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and expanding its non-military nuclear programs.
The United States and Saudi Arabia have recently accelerated efforts towards this agreement. Bloomberg wrote that initially it was thought that such an agreement would be trilateral, but now the United States and Saudi Arabia see an agreement between themselves as central.
