The US Treasury Department has announced sanctions on three suppliers of defense and nuclear missile equipment for Iran in countries such as Russia, Turkey, Oman, and Germany.
According to a report published on the Treasury Department’s website on the first Thursday of Farvardin, companies active in supplying items such as carbon fiber, polymer epoxy, and other equipment used in the missile industry and nuclear program for the self-sufficiency organization of the Aerospace Force of the Ministry of Defense and support of the armed forces, and the Iranian centrifuge technology company have been sanctioned.
Brian Nelson, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the Treasury, also stated that Iran is seeking to procure weapons systems through complex covert procurement networks involving rogue actors worldwide.
Under the new sanctions, the assets of individuals and entities or companies with more than 50% of their assets owned by sanctioned individuals and entities will be blocked in the United States.
