We will not normalize relations with Israel until the formation of the Palestinian government.
Saudi Arabia has announced that it will never establish diplomatic relations with Israel until an independent Palestinian state is created.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in statements referring to the Riyadh and Washington negotiations on the peace process between Arabs and Israel, declared that it has conveyed its firm position on this matter to the US government.
Hours before the release of Saudi Arabia’s statement, Jen Psaki, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, had said that his government had received positive messages indicating that Riyadh and Tel Aviv are willing to continue negotiations on the normalization of their relations.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in its statement that diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel will not be established unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and unless Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip is stopped and all Israeli occupying forces are withdrawn from the Gaza Strip.
