Following the phenomenon of serial suicides among young doctors in Iran, an official from the Medical Council confirmed that Parastoo Bakhshi committed suicide due to extreme pressure at work.

According to information shared on social media by at least one university professor and a medical council official in Iran, 34-year-old Dr. Parastoo Bakhshi, a specialist in cardiovascular diseases, took her own life at her residence in Noorabad Delfan Hospital in Lorestan province.

The exact time of this incident is not yet known, but according to the director of Noorabad Delfan Health and Treatment Network, some hospital staff found her body in the hospital’s dormitory last Sunday night.

The death of this young female doctor in the early days of the new year has triggered widespread reactions among her colleagues on social media.
