Without Washington’s support, the top American general believes Ukraine will face defeat.
The top American general in Europe told the US Congress on Thursday that without Washington’s support, Ukraine’s artillery and air defense systems will be depleted in a short period of time, leaving them vulnerable to both partial and complete defeats.
General Christopher Cavoli, the commander of US Army Europe, informed the US House Armed Services Committee that Russia is currently firing five artillery shells for every Ukrainian shell, and this disparity is expected to increase to ten shells for each Ukrainian shell in the coming weeks.
Mr. Cavoli stated that if one side can fire and the other cannot respond, the side unable to fire will be the loser, so the risks are very high.
