Hours after the announcement by the United States military about repelling a missile attack by Houthi rebels in Yemen on an American warship, a commercial ship was hit by a missile in the waters near the Gulf of Aden.
This ship, named Jabal Al Tariq Eagle, is sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands and is owned by an American company.
The British company, Ambrey, stated that despite the missile strike on the mentioned ship, there was no significant damage and none of its employees were injured.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO), responsible for monitoring the waters of the Middle East region, announced on Tuesday, January 15th, that this attack took place approximately 180 kilometers southeast of the port of Aden, Yemen.
Not much detail has been disclosed about this attack, but a British report says that the captain of the ship mentioned stated that the part of the ship facing the shore was targeted from above with a missile.
The US Fifth Fleet, stationed in the Middle East, has attributed responsibility for this attack to the Houthi rebels and stated that no damage or casualties resulting from the attack on this ship have been reported, and it is continuing its course.
