A Former Diplomat: Suspension of Talks Likely to Continue for Another 10 Weeks

A former diplomat: The suspension of negotiations may continue for another 10 weeks

Kourosh Ahmadi, a former diplomat and senior foreign policy analyst, in an interview with ILNA about the progress of the JCPOA negotiations said

It can be said that the negotiations have been suspended; the negative reaction of the United States to Iran’s response and the lack of movement in the negotiations have left us with no choice but to talk about suspension for now.

Most likely, both the lack of agreement between Tehran and Washington on some remaining issues and a series of side events such as the U.S. elections and even the elections in Israel have caused the process to be suspended, and this suspension could continue until mid-November, which is about 10 weeks from now. During this suspension period, it is unlikely that there will be much exchange of messages regarding substantive issues.
