A number of university faculty members and professors in Arak are at risk of health hazards due to the burning of Mazut.

A group of university faculty members, professors, and members of Arak University of Technology emphasized the need to stop the burning of Mazut in the Shazand power plant through issuing statements.

According to ISNA, in this statement published on the Arak University of Technology information website, addressed to the people of Arak and Shazand, it is mentioned that in recent days, the burning of Mazut has resumed in the Shazand power plant, posing a serious risk to the health of over one million innocent residents of Arak and Shazand cities.

In a section of this statement, it is requested from the authorities to vigorously prevent the burning of Mazut in the Shazand power plant, stating that according to the Clean Air Act approved in 2017, power plants are not allowed to burn Mazut.

The faculty members of Arak University of Technology have declared their full readiness in this statement to provide scientific solutions and suggestions to the relevant provincial and national authorities.
