Afghan women: Men do not support us
Following the Taliban’s new order banning girls from continuing their education at universities, voices of protest rose from everywhere—from the United Nations and the European Union to both Muslim and non-Muslim countries, all unanimously condemned this Taliban government’s order strongly.
At the same time, small groups of women in several provinces of Afghanistan held gatherings to protest this new Taliban order, which were met with violence and suppression by the Taliban.
Some women say that male students were supposed to participate in these protests, but no men attended the demonstrations.
Some of these women stated that in many parts of Afghanistan, nothing changed, and no one raised their voice in support of Afghan women.
