The European Union called for maximum restraint after the leader of Hamas was killed.
According to Al Jazeera, after Hamas announced that its political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Israel’s attack on the capital of Iran, the European Union urged all parties to avoid escalating tensions.
Peter Stano, the spokesperson for the European Union, said, ‘We want all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid escalating tensions. No country will benefit from escalating tensions in the Middle East.’
