Amir Mahdipur, Attorney, Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Amir Mahdipour, a defense attorney, was sentenced to one year in prison.

The human rights news agency HRANA has reported that Amir Mahdipour, a defense attorney and a member of the East Azerbaijan Bar Association, has been sentenced to one year in prison and two years of travel ban along with other social restrictions.

He was arrested in October in connection with nationwide protests by security forces in Tabriz and was sent to the city’s prison.

Mahdipour was temporarily released on bail until the end of the judicial process.

HRANA writes that there is no information available yet about the charges brought against this lawyer.
