Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that Iran’s attack on Israel was justified.
While many countries around the world have condemned Iran’s missile and drone attack on Israel, Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, called this unprecedented attack justified.
The Prime Minister of this predominantly Muslim-majority country wrote in a statement that Iran’s drone attack on Israel was a legitimate action taken in response to Israel’s brutal attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
In the Malaysian Prime Minister’s statement, Israel was also urged to refrain from any retaliatory actions that would escalate tensions in the Middle East.
This statement was issued after the convening of a meeting of Malaysia’s National Security Council to discuss tensions in the Middle East, chaired by Anwar Ibrahim.
Ibrahim also defended his country’s support for Hamas following Israel’s attack on Gaza.
Malaysia witnessed widespread demonstrations in support of Palestinians during Israel’s attack on Gaza.
