Araghchi’s Meeting with German Foreign Minister in New York
International media reported on the meeting between the German Foreign Minister and the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session on Friday, September 27.
In this meeting, Annalena Baerbock, the German Foreign Minister, conveyed her government’s request to Iran to cease any support for Russia in the aggression against Ukraine to her Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.
Baerbock also specifically asked the Islamic Republic to stop the transfer of ballistic missiles and drones to Russia during this conversation.
Additionally, in her meeting with Araghchi, the German Foreign Minister raised Germany’s concerns over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program and the imprisonment of some German dual citizens in Iranian prisons.
