Asian Swimming and Diving Championships

In the Asian age group swimming and diving championships, Sam Vajir, the phenomenon of this sport in Asia, won his second gold medal.

In the eleventh edition of these competitions, hosted by the Philippines, Vajir stood atop the podium in the one-meter springboard event, surpassing representatives from Malaysia and Japan. He also dominated the three-meter springboard event in the under-15 age category.

Ali Safari, Kiomars Aslani, Aydin Nosrati, and Sadr Ali Zadeh Mansour are the other young athletes sent to these competitions.

Earlier, Samiyar Abdali won Iran’s first gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle for adults. Mohammad Mehdi Gholami and Yashar Soleimani claimed bronze medals in the 100-meter backstroke and 50-meter butterfly in the under-14 category, respectively, and in the youth category, Ali Rashidpour took silver in the 50-meter butterfly.
