Salman Rushdie’s attacker: I respect Ayatollah Khomeini
Hadi Matar, the attacker of Salman Rushdie, said in an interview with the New York Post, ‘I was surprised when I heard that Rushdie survived.’ He praised Imam Khomeini, adding, ‘I respect Ayatollah Khomeini. I think he is a great person.’
He denied any connection with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and said about Salman Rushdie, ‘He is someone who has attacked Islam. He has attacked the beliefs of Muslims.’
