Banki Pour, one of the designers of the foreign nationals’ hijab bill, expels foreigners without hijab from the country.
Amirhossein Bankipour, the representative of Isfahan in the parliament, said on the Jahan Ara program on Ofogh TV that those who insist that Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code is sufficient for penalizing hijab violations should consider that the maximum fine under this law is 1.2 million tomans. Of course, the judge can also take into account social sanctions. He added that the new law on chastity and hijab has differentiated between ordinary people and celebrities in this regard. Influential individuals who have connections abroad and engage in norm-breaking projects, as well as platforms that are used, will face heavier penalties. We believe the focus should be on the source of the problem, and this way many issues will be resolved. Bankipour continued by saying that the fine amounts in the chastity and hijab law have been determined in consultation with various experts. The fine for the first offense is 3 million tomans, with an initial suspension of 15 million tomans, which must be paid if the offense is repeated the next day or a few days later. In the end, he added that according to the new law on chastity and hijab, the police can arrest individuals in five cases: semi-nude individuals, organized individuals or those connected to opposing movements, foreigners who resist warnings and confrontations, and foreigners without acceptable documents. For foreigners, we have also considered deportation.
