Biden’s emphasis on preventing the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons

Amid Tehran’s insistence on Washington providing stronger guarantees to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement known as the JCPOA, U.S. President Joe Biden assured Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid that the United States will never allow the Iranian regime to acquire nuclear weapons.

According to Reuters, the White House announced in a statement on Wednesday that President Biden, in a call with Lapid during which both parties discussed the threats posed by Iran, emphasized the United States’ commitment to permanently prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
