Boat carrying refugees sinks
Following the capsizing of a small boat carrying refugees intending to reach the English Channel in northern France, a 7-year-old girl lost her life.
Authorities stated that the boat was carrying 16 refugees and sank a few kilometers off the coast of Dunkirk.
Local authorities mentioned in a statement that the boat was not of an adequate size to accommodate so many refugees.
The parents of this girl, who were on the boat with three other children, were transferred to a hospital in Dunkirk.
This is the third deadly incident involving refugees attempting to cross the English Channel this year.
