CIA Chief’s Analysis on the Situation in Iran
On the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, the head of the organization, had an important discussion with CBS.
He expressed that according to current analyses, the protests in Iran are not limited or few in number, but rather more widespread than previous instances. He praised the courage of the Iranian people and pointed out the violence and suppression in dealing with people demanding their civil rights.
Like several other officials in the U.S. government, William Burns spoke about the Biden administration’s serious plan to improve Iranians’ access to internet services and the flow of communication and information exchange with the world.
