The American website Axios reported, citing informed sources, that the CIA Director is heading to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to advance negotiations aimed at freeing Hamas hostages and halting the fighting.

Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, who is knowledgeable about Gaza negotiations, tweeted on Friday, April 5th, citing two sources, that CIA Director Bill Burns is scheduled to meet with David Barnea, the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence agency Mossad, over the weekend.

US President Joe Biden explicitly asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Thursday, April 4th, to immediately agree to the Gaza negotiations agreement to facilitate the return of the hostages.
