Two informed sources also told Reuters that the Central Intelligence Agency, in line with the new management’s decisions to align the agency with the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump, offered a buyout to all its employees on Tuesday, February 6.
This new move regarding the CIA is part of the broader changes that Donald Trump is pursuing in the U.S. government. He has promised to significantly reduce the federal workforce and restructure it for efficiency and cost-saving, a topic that has sparked widespread reactions in Washington.
In the same context, last week, Donald Trump’s administration offered two million permanent employees of federal government agencies the option to resign in exchange for receiving their salaries until the end of September.
