Commander of the National Police in Norooz accidents, 373 people died and 10500 people were injured

During the Nowruz holidays, 373 people died and 10,500 were injured in traffic accidents, according to the chief of the country’s traffic police.

The chief of the country’s traffic police expressed regret over the loss of 373 compatriots in accidents from the beginning of the Nowruz plan until now, stating that this number will definitely increase as some of the injured individuals in hospitals may unfortunately pass away, adding to this statistic.

He further mentioned that more than 10,500 compatriots were also injured in these few days, with approximately 15 to 20 percent of these injured individuals becoming disabled. Therefore, he urged Nowruz travelers to strictly adhere to the laws.

Referring to the fact that 44 percent of the accidents during this period were due to lack of attention to the front, it was mentioned that part of this lack of attention is related to the use of mobile phones while driving, as unfortunately drivers use mobile phones while driving. Additionally, on the roads, 30 percent of accidents are rollovers, the cause of which is related to fatigue, drowsiness, lack of sufficient rest, and speeding while driving.
