The Article 10 Commission of the Iranian Dental Association does not have legal authority.
The Secretary of the Article 10 Commission of the Law on the Activities of Parties and Political Groups announced today that the Iranian Dental Association has not renewed its license and therefore does not have legal authority.
According to IRNA, Abdullah Moradi stated that due to the protests against the unlawful actions of the Iranian Dental Association, which involved deviating from professional duties and violating the bylaws, this decision has been made.
Mr. Moradi advised professional associations to refrain from engaging in political matters outside the scope of their legal responsibilities.
The Iranian Dental Association, which has been in existence for over two decades, had issued statements following the killing of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Basij organization, condemning violent and inappropriate behavior and demanding an end to violent and aggressive actions against peaceful protesters who exercise their constitutional right to peaceful protest.
The Article 10 Commission of the Law on the Activities of Parties and Political Groups is an institution within the Ministry of Interior responsible for issuing licenses for professional associations and political parties.
