The condemnation of Javad Larijani’s remarks by the Friday Imams of Sistan and Baluchestan

The directors of the Society of Teachers of Seminaries, Friday Imams, and communities in several cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province have strongly criticized the inflammatory statements of Mohammad Javad Larijani, former representative of the parliament, and stated that they strongly condemn his insulting remarks against the Friday Imam of Zahedan using the harshest words.

Mohammad Javad Larijani, on Friday, 16th of Dey, criticized the positions of Mullah Abdul Hamid, the Friday Imam of the Sunni community in Zahedan, in an interview with Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, and called for action against him.

He also compared the Grand Makki Mosque in Zahedan, one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world and the most famous Sunni mosque in Iran, to a harmful mosque, and said that filthy words come out of there.

The Zahedan Grand Mosque is known as a symbol of hypocrisy during the early Islamic period and according to some historical accounts, the Prophet of Muslims ordered its destruction.
