The designer of the mandatory hijab bill became a faculty member at Alzahra University
Abolfazl Eghbali, the designer of the mandatory hijab bill known as the Modesty and Hijab Bill, announced on his Telegram channel that he has become a faculty member at Alzahra University and wrote, ‘I hope to be beneficial and effective for future generations in the field of gender and family studies.’
Previously, in an interview with the Iran Watchdog website, Eghbali had described a person without a hijab as a nuisance and said such a person should not be tolerated. Eghbali also stated that an artist whose life in the country involves norm-breaking and law-breaking should emigrate.
Last year, Eghbali also emphasized in a program on state television regarding the plan to fine improper hijab that this plan does not only apply to women and that men with improper attire would also face fines ranging from 6 to 50 million.
He had listed tight T-shirts and shorts as examples of improper hijab for men.
