Earthquakes that revealed Erdogan’s faults
Foreign policy writes that the initial shock of Turkey’s largest earthquake in the past 100 years has now turned into anger. As destructive buildings collapsed in southern Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government also collapsed. The Turkish elections will be held in May, but just before that, a hellish storm of devastation occurred. At least 40,000 people lost their lives in this natural and man-made disaster. Although infrastructure and development have been the most important point of the AKP ruling party’s campaign for the past 20 years, Erdogan’s poor construction may lead to his downfall.
