Ebrahim Raisi threatened the opposition, saying we will not show mercy to the enemies.
Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic, once again referred to the last hundred days of anti-government protests in Iran on Tuesday during a ceremony, stating we will not show mercy to the enemies.
He also mentioned that the nation’s arms are open to all those who were deceived.
Once again, he called the protests that started in response to Mahsa Amini’s death in the custody of the morality police as riots.
The Iranian Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) estimated today that 507 protesters have lost their lives between October 19 and December 26 in protests over Mahsa Amini’s death.
Human rights monitoring organizations have estimated the number of detainees to be at least 14 to 16 thousand people.
The severe restrictions imposed by the Iranian government on the free flow of information and independent reporting have made it difficult to determine the exact number and identity of those killed.
