News agencies and human rights organizations report that since Monday, eight people have been executed in Iran in connection with drug offenses and murder.
According to the human rights news agency, Harana, on Wednesday, February 14th, three prisoners who had been convicted in drug and murder cases were executed in Karaj Central Penitentiary.
One of these three men, named Mehdi Dostari, was facing drug charges, while the other two prisoners, whose identities are being verified according to Harana, were convicted of murder.
It is also reported that on Tuesday, at least five people were executed in Urmia, Gorgan, and Qazvin.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, Cyrus Gholami, who was accused of intentional murder, was executed on Monday in the central prison of Gorgan.
This organization reports that on Tuesday morning, Ahmad Sameri and Behzad Alirezaei, two imprisoned individuals in Qazvin Central Prison, were executed. According to the organization, the charges that led to the death penalty are unclear.
