Employees of an American factory in Turkey have been taken hostage.

An armed man attacked a Turkish-based American consumer goods company and took several workers hostage.

According to the Demirören News Agency (DHA), this incident occurred today, Monday, February 1st, in the Kocaeli province located in western Turkey. The area surrounding the factory has been surrounded by the police. Turkish media reported that the attacker has taken seven people hostage in the factory.

The Demirören News Agency further writes that the attacker intends to protest against the war in Gaza with this action. Images of the attacker’s presence in the factory have been released in the media. A Turkish flag and a Palestinian flag have been painted on the wall next to him.
