The head of the European Commission called Russia, Iran, and North Korea a new group of authoritarians who, according to her, trample on the rules-based international order and put pressure on our democracies to the point of collapse.
Ms. von der Leyen called Iran’s recent attack on Israel the latest evidence of the intentions of these authoritarian groups and concluded that Europe must wake up for its defense and security.
According to her, EU member states must quickly enhance their defense industry capabilities over the next five years.
