France’s reaction to the new positions of the UN special rapporteur is disgraceful
The French Foreign Ministry responded to the views of Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur in the occupied Palestinian territories, who had called the Hamas massacre on October 7 a reaction to Israeli oppression, and called it shameful.
After Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, referred to the October 7 massacre as the largest anti-Semitic massacre of our century, Ms. Albanese published a message stating that the killing of 1200 Israelis on that day was a response to Israeli injustice and oppression.
She wrote on social media, ‘The largest anti-Semitic massacre of our century was not the victims of October 7, not because they were Jewish, but because they were killed in response to Israeli oppression. France and the international community did nothing to prevent it.’
