The German Foreign Minister, in a joint press conference with his Israeli counterpart, expressed shame for his country’s history in the Holocaust and stated that the Berlin government is committed to its obligations towards Tel Aviv’s security, and Israel can trust us in this regard.
He also mentioned the shared foreign policy of the two countries regarding Iran, reiterating claims of intervention in Iran’s internal affairs and asserting that the Islamic Republic threatens the stability and security of the Middle East through support for militant groups.
Moreover, he mentioned concerns from Berlin and Tel Aviv about Iran’s nuclear program, referring to an American Bloomberg magazine report about Iran’s 84% uranium enrichment and claiming that this level of enrichment has no non-military justification.
