Hassan Rouhani: The state TV has become factional and cliquish.
Hassan Rouhani, on September 10, during his ongoing periodic meetings with ministers and vice presidents from his eleventh and twelfth administrations, stated that the purpose of these meetings is to reunite with his colleagues and discuss friendly and sincere topics. He mentioned that the members of the Prudence and Hope Government, both from the previous and current administrations, are ready and willing to share their experiences and opinions to help advance matters and solve the country’s problems.
The president of the eleventh and twelfth terms criticized the performance of the state TV and said, ‘I used to say the state TV is not national, it’s personal. Now the state TV has become factional and cliquish. A group has taken over the state TV and they do whatever they want, spreading slander and defamation. They are so well-supported that no court can do anything, and no complaint gets anywhere.’
Rouhani added that if disrespect towards people’s dignity in the streets has angered the public, efforts should be made to compensate for it and to restore the atmosphere of dignity, respect for citizen rights, and public ethics.
