The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced the upcoming visit of Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to Iran.
Mohammad Islami said on Thursday, April 18, that the Agency’s inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities are ongoing, and 120 confirmed inspectors of this institution are stationed in Iran or travel back and forth.
Mr. Grossi also said in interviews with the media on Tuesday that he is preparing for a trip to Tehran, but the date of this trip is not yet determined.
He had also recently said, ‘We have inspections in Iran, but not at the level and depth necessary for the nature of the problem.’
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency has long been trying to obtain Iran’s answers regarding its secretive nuclear activities, especially the origin of the discovered uranium at undisclosed sites in the country. Iran has not provided transparency about the origin of this uranium in the past three years.
