The head of the Medical Council Organization warned about the vacant positions for specialist assistants.
The head of the Medical Council Organization announced the shortage of residency positions in some specialized fields such as pediatric anesthesia and emergency medicine, stating that statistics indicate future challenges for the medical community.
According to ISNA, Mohammad Reiszadeh on Monday, April 22, warned about serious issues and challenges in the medical community, mentioning that increasing the capacity for accepting specialized fields is not the only solution to this crisis.
He mentioned that if these challenges and issues related to the medical community are not resolved, the country’s healthcare system will face a crisis that cannot be easily solved.
Mr. Reiszadeh also considered the shortage of physicians in the country in August 2023 as a serious crisis and had warned about the future of Iran’s health sector.
This comes as in recent years, many warnings have been raised regarding the possibility of a significant decrease in the number of physicians and nurses in Iran, coinciding with an increase in migration waves in these fields.
