Head of Passive Defense Organization: 200 cyber attacks repelled in one month leading up to elections

The head of the country’s Passive Defense Organization announced the repulsion of 200 cyber attacks, large and small, in a month leading up to the parliamentary elections.

According to Commander Jalali, in the month leading up to the elections, we witnessed nearly 200 cyber attacks of various types and sizes.

He explained that during this period, we faced 4 or 5 major attacks, which our dear ones in the security departments of the Ministry of Intelligence, Ministry of Communications, and Passive Defense Organization controlled and repelled through the division of tasks. Other attacks were well controlled and ineffective by the efforts of the Basij forces, who are experts from the Ministry of Communications.

The head of the country’s Passive Defense Organization stated that in the past 6 months, we had at least 100 DDoS attacks, mostly foreign, aimed at disrupting services to citizens, but fortunately, the readiness of the Ministry of Communications was able to maintain the stability and continuity of network services.
