Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Killed in Helicopter Crash

Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was killed in a helicopter crash.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, who was traveling with Ebrahim Raisi on Monday, 30th of Ordibehesht, to inaugurate the joint dam of Qiz Qala Si with the Republic of Azerbaijan on the border river of Aras to East Azerbaijan province, was killed in a helicopter crash.

He, who held the position of Foreign Minister in Ebrahim Raisi’s government, was considered one of the trusted figures of the system.

The level of trust of the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran in him can be summarized in this sentence: he was one of the first Iranian officials to openly negotiate with Americans before the Iran-US nuclear talks in trilateral talks between Iran, the US, and Iraq.

He was also the first official to travel to London after the reopening of the British Embassy in Tehran during the first term of Hassan Rouhani’s government and met with Philip Hammond, the Foreign Secretary of that country.
