Human Rights News Agency Harana: Critic Cleric Taqi Akbarnejad Detained

Human rights news agency Hirana reported that cleric Taqi Akbarnejad, a critic of the government, has been detained.

Hirana human rights news agency reported that cleric Taqi Akbarnejad, a critic, has been detained by the intelligence forces of the Revolutionary Guards and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Hirana wrote that so far no information has been obtained about the reasons for his detention and his whereabouts.

Mr. Akbarnejad, the head of the seminary in Kangaavar, Kermanshah, had previously faced judicial attention and action for criticizing the Iranian government.

He recently expressed his astonishment about the performance of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, referring to his slogans about approaching the peak, saying, ‘I wonder where our clerics are. Are they dead or alive? Why don’t they question the leader once about explaining where the peaks he shows us are, why the nation does not feel this peak?’

He also recounted a conversation with one of the mosque-goers who sadly told him, ‘Mr. Khamenei is not our leader, he is the leader of Yemenis and Palestinians because his heart burns more for them than us.’
