Human Rights Situation Report in Kurdistan

The Hengaw Human Rights Organization has released a report addressing the human rights situation in Kurdistan in 2022.

According to this report, based on statistics recorded in the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at least 52 Kurdish citizens were executed and more than 2,212 citizens were arrested in 2022. Of these, 155 were tried and sentenced to execution, imprisonment, and flogging.

During this period, 290 cross-border porters and tradespeople were killed or injured.

Additionally, 128 ordinary citizens were killed by direct fire from government forces, and more than 3,000 were injured. Furthermore, 37 citizens fell victim to landmine explosions, and 19 prisoners died in Kurdistan’s prisons.
