Ibrahim Raeisi emphasized that the presence of foreigners in the region is not an excuse for solving problems.
The President stated that the full implementation of all agreements between Tehran and Yerevan is supported by the will of the high authorities of Iran and Armenia, aiming to develop trade and economic relations and elevate them to the level of current political relations.
Seyed Ibrahim Raeisi described the meeting with Mehr Gregorian, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia and the Chairman of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, and the accompanying delegation of Tehran and Yerevan relations as a historical, friendly, and constructive one. He emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s interest in maintaining stability and security in the Caucasus region.
Furthermore, the President expressed support and welcomed the peace negotiations between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized the willingness and readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to guarantee the strategic security of the Caucasus region and Iran’s red lines in this regard.
Raeisi also stated that we are not in favor of the presence of foreigners in the region as an excuse for solving problems. We believe that their presence will not only solve any problem but will also become a bigger problem for the people and governments of the region.
The President, referring to the determination of the high authorities of both countries to develop trade and economic relations and elevate them to the level of current political relations, stated that the full implementation of all agreements between Tehran and Yerevan is supported by us. This requires double efforts and sincere pursuit of the joint commission of the two countries.
